– Your very own London to Paris Rally T-Shirt!
– Rally goodybag

Any vehicle is welcome, any at all! Equally, if you don’t have a vehicle, sign up anyway and we will try to find you a seat with somebody else.
DEADLINE FOR SIGN UP IS THURSDAY 5TH OCTOBER – DON’T MISS OUT AND DO IT NOW.
Schedule
We will meet at the Ace Cafe at 7am on the 21st of October 2017. After a proper biker’s breakfast from the Ace Cafe and the chance to get some team pictures, we will set off for Paris. For a full schedule, information about accommodation options and lots of other useful info – check out our London to Paris Information pack.
Why do it?
You’ll be raising awareness for the fight against modern day slavery in the UK and abroad. There are estimated to be 13,000 people living in modern day slavery in the UK and 45.8 million globally. Through forming a huge convoy of scooters, sidecars and anything else, we will send the message that slavery has no place in our communities. We’ve teamed up with Unseen UK who run the UK Modern Slavery Helpline and who will be there on the day to support the rally and answer any questions you may have about slavery in the UK and abroad.
You’ll help us kick start the As Seen From The Sidecar expedition which will see us circumnavigate the globe telling stories of every day life and connecting the world on a personal level. Many of the people living in modern day slavery are there because of little decisions we make at home, like buying the wrong product or service. And seeing as there are loads of really great organisations, like Unseen, that already tell us which things not to buy or do, we thought there’s a need for somebody to make these kind of issues a bit more personal. With this personal connection we will all understand that our decisions really do affect real people in ways that none of us would want and hopefully this will inspire us to be a bit more compassionate with our decision making. To tell these stories, we’re circumnavigating the globe on a scooter and sidecar. It’s an Official Guinness World Record attempt and it will be the first time anyone has ever done it. Money raised through the expedition and this event will go towards making these issues personal and to a group of partner organsiations who are fighting modern day slavery and other human rights abuses worldwide.
Help us fundraise
As well as an awareness raiser this event will double as a fundraiser so please do join in on the fundraising. All you’ve got to do is bang up a quick fundraising page and you will raise money for our fight for a more personally connected world and the brilliant organisations we’re working with. Try and get creative to raise more money by dressing your vehicle up or wearing something stupid yourself (please keep it clean though!). On sign up we’ll send you a pre-race pack that will give you loads of good tips on how to do this.
Join us and scoot in solidarity against modern day slavery! It will be a huge amount of fun and a truly unique way to kick off a completely bonkers project.
Entry fee is a voluntary donation. Scoot, ride and drive at your own risk.
Good luck lads, can’t wait to follow your progress!
A wonderful wonderful effort. Marvellous.
I’m interested but need to know where do we stay in Paris, and who pays?
Hi Jim, great to hear you fancy coming along. the accommodation isn’t included in the £25 sign up. We are recommending that everyone stays at Indigo Camping with us. There is the option to camp or to hire a little cottage/caravan. You can read about it in the information pack here. Let us know if you’ve got any more questions! Hope you can make it!
hi scooter crew we met at over land event iam kenny one of the volunteer team ps handed out your leaflets at your talk………… see you at the A C E FOR VEGGY BREAK FAST…..
Hi Kenny! Great stuff yeah we remember you 🙂 thanks for signing up. Look forward to seeing you there. We’ll send you out an info pack in the next few days also. Cheers!
Amazing. We’re gutted as we are already away on that date but will follow your adventure. Is this an annual event ?
Hi Jo! That’s a real shame you can’t join us! Nope, it’s not an annual thing I’m afraid. It marks the first day of our Guinness World Record attempt to circumnavigate the globe on a scooter with a sidecar which will take around 18 months – maybe we’ll do something on the way back! We’ll be putting regular blogs on this website so keep tuned in to see how we get on!
Can we join at the Shuttle as we live in Dover and Folkestone! !!
Hi Paul! Yes you certainly can! We already have a couple of people planning on doing that too. Just sign up as normal, put in the comments box that you’re joining from Folkestone and we’ll get in touch to arrange the finer details. Look forward to seeing you there!
Hello, this is great. It’s mentioned that any vehicle is welcomed and that a return ticket is included. I’m very interested in this, I would normally ride but would drive my truck for this event as a support vehicle. I’m just wondering if my truck would be too big for this event. Thanks
Hi James, sounds great – we’ve got a couple of spots reserved for taller vehicles so should be fine – depends how big your truck is though! Drop me an email at matt@asseenfromthesidecar.org with some more details if you like? Cheers!! Matt
Hi, we’d love to join you; it says the deadline was on the 5th but we only saw this on an article posted a couple of days ago. Is this deadline set in stone? Or is it still possible to purchase tickets? (Already booked the day off work in anticipation of purchasing tickets today)
Hi, the deadline has passed but we’d love to have you along! Please do sign up and buy your tickets and we will give the guys at EuroTunnel a call to see if we can squeeze you in. Cheers!
Hi Matt,
Saw your reply and immediately bought the tickets… only to then find out (I’m the information pack) that we can’t join you if we only have a CBT (You’ll be driving on the motorway), so it looks like our journey has ended before it’s even begun. 😕 We do however wish you the best of luck with your journey and thank you for raising funds for such a great cause.
If you take some great photos on the way, please consider adding them to our Creative Commons Photography project at http://ffcu.co or join us on Facebook at http://Facebook.com/freeforcommercialuse or on Instagram at https://instagram.com/p/BaKgzERgSM7/
(in return for attribution to asseenfromthesidecar.org which also further helps boost your potential audience)
We are so disappointed we can’t join you and were really looking forward to this trip. Maybe we can make the trip to Paris an annual thing to raise funds for charities (and we’ll have more than just a CBT to ensure we can make the trip).
Wishing you the best of luck, hope you have a great time. Look forward to virtually joining you on your trip.
Safe travels
