Week 2 on the road took us from Lake Como, through Lake Garda and to a small town just south of Venice called Chioggia. It was fairly miserable weather so a couple of days of grey driving. Chioggia was a nice Italian town though it’s exactly like Venice but a lot smaller and without the tourists and the fancy shops. We stopped in Chioggia for a couple of nights to sort out the sidecar again before heading North to Slovenia. The road through this part of Northern Italy and into Triglav National Park was incredible, probably the coolest road we’ve taken. Heading to Triglav National Park, actually meant heading North from Chioggia but we thought it looked like it was worth the detour – we were right.
We definitely spent too long playing with the drone in Triglav so we ended up driving out of the park as the sunset and arrived in Lake Bled after dark. We were lucky enough to do some couchsurfing in Bled with a lovely lady called Silka. We held up at Silka’s in Bled for a couple of nights to hide from the rain and sort out some more stuff for further down the road.
